OCG Rulings

  • This card is a "Blue-Eyes" monster.[1]
  • This card's effect that prevents it from being targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects is a Continuous Effect.[1]
  • This card's effect that destroys a card on your opponent's field is an Ignition Effect.[1]
  • This effect targets 1 card on your opponent's field. Furthermore, if this card was Fusion Summoned using a monster whose original name is "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon" as a material, you can target 2 or 3 cards on your opponent's field instead. (In that case, when you activate the effect, you will choose whether the effect will target 1, 2, or 3 cards.)[1]
  • You cannot activate this effect during your Main Phase 2 if "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" attacked during this turn.[1]

Q&A Rulings

  • Q: There are 2 copies of "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon" and 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in my hand. In this situation, can I activate "Polymerization" and Fusion Summon a "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon"?
A: The materials required to Fusion Summon "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" are 3 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"s. In this scenario, the effect of "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon" that treats it as "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" is not applied while it is in your hand. Since you do not have 3 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"s in your hand to use as materials, you cannot Fusion Summon "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" with "Polymerization".[2] [3]
  • Q: There are 3 copies of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in my GY, which include a "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon" whose name is treated as "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" by its own effect. In this situation, I activate "Necro Fusion", and Fusion Summon "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" by banishing those 3 monsters face-down. When activating the effect of that "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" that was Fusion Summoned this way, can target 2 or 3 of my opponent's cards?
A: In this scenario, even if "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" was Fusion Summoned by the effect of "Necro Fusion" and the materials were banished face-down, it was Fusion Summoned using a monster whose original name is "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon". Therefore, when activating its effect, you can target 2 or 3 of your opponent's cards to destroy.[4] [3]
  • Q: I activate the effect of "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon", targeting 3 monsters on my opponent's field. If my opponent chains "Compulsory Evacuation Device" and returns 1 of the targeted monsters to the hand, how does the effect of "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" resolve?
A: In this scenario, even if one of the cards targeted by the effect "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" is no longer on the field when the effect resolves, any remaining targeted cards are destroyed normally. (This card cannot attack during this turn as usual.)[5] [3]
  • Q: This turn, I activated the effect of "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" and destroyed an opponent's card. During the same turn, if I activate "Book of Moon" and change that "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" to face-down Defense Position, then flip it face-up again, can it attack this turn?
A: In this scenario, if a "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" that activated its effect is changed to face-down Defense Position, then flipped face-up again, it will be able to attack that turn.[6] [7]
  • Q: When I declare an attack with "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon", the attack is negated by the effect of my opponent's "Necro Gardna". During Main Phase 2 of that turn, can I activate the effect of "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon"?
A: In this scenario, "Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon" declared an attack, and even though the attack was negated, its effect cannot be activated during Main Phase 2 of the same turn.[8] [7]
