Pick Me Up: How to Make a DIY Picnic Blanket from a Canvas Drop Cloth
A spring picnic is looking all kinds of nice right now, after the common cold winter nosotros've had. Well, colder than my typical Florida winters, now that I'm in Atlanta anyway.
And since leap is just another week or so abroad, I figured this would be as good a fourth dimension as any to share a DIY picnic coating I created, in partnership with Seven Daughters wine, using a canvas drop fabric from a abode improvement store.

The finished blanket is sturdy enough to agree up to the elements, but also has a playful pattern, which I've been lovingly referring to equally 'geometric swiss cheese'.

Supplies
-sheet drop cloth
-painter's tape
-paint brush (at least two inches wide, to encompass the large surface faster)
-one medium to large size bowl (cull a bowl that is the same size as the circles y'all want to create)
-fabric paint (y'all tin use regular paint as well, but the cloth will become stiffer if you lot exercise, only equally an FYI)
-scrap cardboard (or similar) to put underneath your drop material to keep things from making a mess on the floor *You can avert this supply if you lot're painting outdoors in the grass.
How To
ane. Lay downwards large pieces of cardboard, mat lath, etc on the floor, then place the drop textile on top. This will prevent whatsoever paint from going through the blanket and onto the floor. OR simply ready your drop cloth on a flat surface outside and you can skip this step altogether.
ii.Then, tape off the sheet drop cloth, on a diagonal from one corner to the other. Exist certain to printing downward firmly across the entire tape length, to brand sure the paint line you create is nice and crisp.
3. Next, place a bowl upside down on the drop material where yous want to brand the first polka dot / circumvolve. Then, carefully paint a thin line around the basin to create a guide.
